Work Samples

For over 25 years, Ellen Freed has had a double career as a training consultant and a marketing writer for the arts. Corporate clients have included American Express, AT&T, Bank of America, Citibank, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and Xerox. Also, Ellen has worked with numerous artists across disciplines and such arts organizations as The Anna Sokolow Dance Foundation, The Art and Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI), ENFOCO, Long Island City Artists (LICA), and The New York City Ballet.

Working on projects in both of these arenas has produced:
* Interviewing expertise
* A strong facility for synthesizing ideas into marketing headlines
* A clear and effective writing style
* The ability to select the most powerful promotional content available
* An understanding of how to best use graphic and verbal content
* The attention to detail so necessary for finished professional materials.

Recently, Ellen decided to concentrate exclusively on meeting the marketing needs of individual artists and arts organizations. She introduced The Before-and-After Marketing Clinic, a one-to-one, hands-on service designed to strengthen the writing of first draft bios, artist statements, press releases or grant proposals. It can also be used for a “Web Site Check-Up” in which recommendations for content or graphic design revisions are indentified. Other services include content development projects and a new workshop for artists without Web sites. Ellen specializes in creating Web site content that presents each client to the world in the most professional and powerful manner possible.
